A customer of ours encountered the problem that he could display some videos neatly in a Track, while other videos only showed the URL. It turned out that these were Vimeo links that were set to private, instead of public.
We started working on this to come up with a solution, and we succeeded. Let me take you step by step, what went wrong and how it was resolved.
Cause
We found that a URL with a double '/' could only embed up to the second '/'. But the link was not complete so a message appeared “Sorry, this video does not exist.”
Solution
After some fiddling around, the following information came from our developer:
"An embeddable video must be public anyway, because an external website still has to load the video. Vimeo has white-listed domains, depending on the settings, see this article."
Conclusion: The video must be on 'hide from Vimeo' and it should not be set to private for embedding. At the bottom of this page at Vimeo there is also something to only allow embedding on a certain domain. Here you can enter trackler.com or app.trackler.com.
Result
A beautiful embedded video in your Track, which is not visible on Vimeo, but is visible to your customers/clients on Trackler.
