Onboarding

An onboarding helps you start a Track in a structured way. Use it to ask key questions or share information upfront. Responses appear in the Track and can optionally be stored in metadata.

Updated over a week ago

Onboarding is an interactive questionnaire or introduction form shown to a Trackee at the start of a Track. It helps participants get started smoothly and allows you to collect or share essential information right away.

The onboarding appears automatically in the Track app as soon as a participant is added to a Track. The Trackee can complete it before the core program begins.

When should you use onboarding?

Use onboarding when you want to:

  • Provide a smooth start with a clear introduction to the Track and Trackler

  • Collect key information before the first session (such as preferences or goals)

How does onboarding work?

You build an onboarding using the same builder as forms. You create pages, add questions, and set whether answers should be saved to Track Metadata — on a per-field basis.

What’s the difference compared to a form?

Onboarding

Form

Automatically shown at the start of a Track

Manually sent or triggered via workflow

Purpose: kickoff and optional intake

Purpose: collect data during the Track

Answers appear in the Track under the Onboarding app

Answers appear under the Forms app in the Track

Answers and metadata

Answers from an onboarding are visible inside the Track under the Onboarding tab. You can choose to store specific answers in the Track Metadata — useful if you need the data later in the program.

Note: Answers are not saved to metadata by default. You must enable this manually per field.
