Create an Onboarding

You build an onboarding form using the same builder as forms. This article shows you how to add pages, configure fields, and link answers to metadata per question.

What is an onboarding form?

An onboarding form helps you guide a participant (Trackee) into a Track in a structured way. It may include intake questions, practical instructions, or preference collection.

You create it using the same form builder used for Forms. Each onboarding includes one or more pages with questions or informative blocks. You decide which answers should be saved to the Track Metadata.

Create a new onboarding

  1. Go to Settings → Onboarding

  2. Click “Create onboarding”

  3. Give it a title and optional short description

  4. Add pages and questions

Add pages

Use multiple pages to keep your onboarding clear and easy to follow.
Add a new page by clicking “Add page” on the right.

  • Rearrange pages by dragging them

  • Give each page a clear title for context

Add field types

Type / or click the plus icon to add a new block. You can choose from, e.g.:

  • Short text (e.g. name, phone number)

  • Long text (e.g. descriptions, motivations)

  • Multiple choice (radio buttons or checkboxes)

  • Date picker

  • File upload (e.g. for documents or photos)

  • Title or info text (for non-input explanations)

Field settings

Click the gear icon next to a field to open its settings:

  • Toggle Required field

  • Add a placeholder

  • Set minimum or maximum length (for text fields)

  • Enable Save to Track Metadata

🎯 Tip: Only store data in metadata if you plan to use it later (e.g. name, goals, preferences).

Preview your onboarding

Click “Save & preview” to test what the onboarding will look like. You’ll see the pages and questions as the participant will experience them.

Publish

Satisfied with your onboarding?
Set its status to Published in the top right. It’s now available to be linked to any Track.
