Collections

Use collections to bundle multiple courses into a single learning path. Collections allow you to define which courses belong together, the order in which they appear, and when participants gain access.

Updated this week

What is a collection?

A collection is a bundle of multiple courses that together form a learning path.

Instead of offering separate courses, you can combine them into a structured program.

Examples:

  • Onboarding program

  • Coaching program

  • Training program

  • Learning path with multiple modules

Each course still exists independently, but becomes part of a larger structure.

Collections overview

In the collections overview, you will see for each collection:

  • Title

  • Description

  • Number of courses

  • Tags

  • Options menu (⋯)

From the options menu you can:

  • Edit the collection

  • Delete the collection

Creating a collection

Go to:

Settings → Courses → Collections → Create collection

Here you can configure the different parts of the collection.

Basic information

In this section you define the general properties of the collection:

  • Title

  • Short description

  • Color scheme

  • Image

  • Long description

For the long description, you can use the block editor to add detailed explanations or instructions.

Adding courses to a collection

Using Add courses, you can select which courses belong to the collection.

A collection can contain multiple courses.

You can always:

  • add courses

  • remove courses

  • change the order of courses

Managing courses within a collection

Inside a collection you can manage several settings.

You can:

  • add or remove courses

  • change the order

  • lock courses

  • unlock courses

This allows you to control how participants progress through the learning path.

Locking courses within collections

You can lock courses so that participants can only access them under certain conditions.

For example:

  • Course 2 becomes available only after Course 1 is completed

  • A course is unlocked through a workflow

  • An administrator grants manual access

This makes it possible to:

  • create step-by-step learning paths

  • build progressive training programs

  • define conditional access

Linking collections to Tracks

Just like individual courses, collections can be connected to a Track.

For example, a collection can:

  • automatically start when a Track begins

  • become available through a workflow

  • trigger actions or messages when progress is made

Examples:

  • Track starts → Collection starts

  • Course completed → Unlock the next course

  • Collection completed → Butler sends a message

Automating with workflows

With Workflows, you can trigger actions automatically based on progress.

For example:

  • when a course is completed

  • when a collection starts

  • when a participant finishes a lesson

Workflows can then:

  • unlock the next course

  • add a new collection

  • send a message via Butler

This allows you to create fully automated learning paths.

When should you use a single course vs a collection?

Use a single course when:

  • it is a standalone training

  • there is no required order

Use a collection when:

  • you want to bundle multiple courses

  • you want to enforce progression

  • you want to automate learning paths

  • you offer a program in multiple phases
