Using quizzes in courses

Use quizzes to test knowledge, ask reflection questions, or make courses more interactive for participants.

What is a quiz?

A quiz is a set of questions that you can add to a lesson within a course.

Quizzes help you to:

  • check understanding

  • encourage active participation

  • ask reflection questions

  • measure learning progress

Adding quizzes makes a lesson more interactive.

Where can you add a quiz?

Quizzes are always added inside a lesson.

  1. Go to Courses

  2. Open the course

  3. Open the lesson where you want to add the quiz

Adding a quiz

  1. Open a lesson

  2. Click Add quiz

  3. Add a question

  4. Enter the possible answers

  5. Save the quiz

The quiz is now part of the lesson.

Quiz settings

For each quiz, you can define when a participant is marked as passed and whether they are allowed to continue to the next lesson.

Open a quiz and click Quiz settings to configure these options.

Passing percentage

Here you set the minimum percentage of correct answers required to pass the quiz.

  • If you leave this field empty, participants can always continue to the next lesson.

  • In that case, the quiz will automatically be recorded as 100% passed, even if all answers are incorrect.

This can be useful when a quiz is intended as a knowledge check or reflection exercise, rather than a requirement to continue.

For example, if you enter 75%:

  • The participant must answer at least 75% of the questions correctly to be marked as passed.

  • In the submissions, it will be visible whether the participant has passed or failed the quiz.

Require passing percentage to continue

With this option, you can determine whether participants must pass the quiz before they can move on to the next lesson.

  • Disabled
Participants can continue to the next lesson even if they do not reach the required passing percentage.

  • Enabled
Participants must first reach the required passing percentage before the next lesson becomes available.

This is commonly used when a quiz is part of a mandatory learning path or when participants must demonstrate understanding before continuing.

When should you use quizzes?

Quizzes are useful for:

  • knowledge checks after a lesson

  • reflection questions in coaching programs

  • participant evaluations

  • interactive learning moments

Quizzes and course progress

When a participant completes a quiz, it is stored as part of the course progress.

This allows you to see:

  • whether a lesson has been completed

  • how participants respond to questions

  • where participants are in the learning journey

Organizing courses with collections

Quizzes are part of lessons within a course.

To make courses visible to participants, you use Collections.

Collections determine:

  • which courses are visible

  • the order in which they appear

  • when participants gain access
